What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion involves mechanically exfoliating the outermost layer of dead skin cells. Generally, softer and smoother skin that feels fresher and more rejuvenated is the expected outcome after microdermabrasion. 

Mild pinkness of the skin is the desired outcome and usually resolves within a couple of hours after microdermabrasion treatment. Use of a high quality sunscreen is recommended as photosensitivity may be increased after the treatment. Potential side effects of microdermabrasion are minimal as this is a very safe procedure. Temporary side effects include slight skin tightness, redness, mild bruising, and skin sensitivity.
