The light energy delivered by the BBR will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. In addition, the photothermal energy eliminates the fine blood vessels that cause redness and reduces the unwanted melanin that produces pigmentation. 

BBR is considered to be the next generation of IPL. It was created to increase safety and improve results of photo rejuvenation treatments. Where IPL can be quite uncomfortable and sometimes painful, the BBR machine is equipped with advanced cooling features, allowing the use of high-powered energy with minimal discomfort.

Whilst everyone’s pain tolerance is different, most clients find the treatment comfortable. Clients describe the procedure as a warm flicking sensation. Topical numbing cream is not necessary.

The number of treatments necessary will depend on your skin type, skin condition and your desired results. Usually 2-5 treatments at 2-4 weeks intervals are needed. Your therapist will determine an appropriate treatment plan to suit your specific needs.

Immediately following treatment, you can expect to see mild redness. It may feel like a slight sunburn in the treated area. This should dissipate after a few hours, but in some cases, it could last a day or two. You can start to see healthier looking skin just several days after treatment. Sun spots, age spots, and broken blood vessels usually begin to clear up in one to two weeks. Pigmentation can appear darker in the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure whilst undergoing BBR treatments. Following your treatment, your therapist will provide you with post treatment care instructions. It is essential to follow your post treatment care instructions in order to ensure optimal results.
